Our customer faced a growing challenge. They needed to increase the efficiency of their production line by combining two separate bagging processes into one high-speed, dual-line automated system. They had two options either invest in a completely new machine or upgrade their existing automated bagger to handle both lines at twice the speed. Turning to Omni Automation, they asked if it was possible to not only merge these processes but to do so with enhanced performance.

Our team conducted an in-depth on-site analysis, monitoring the original machine’s operations and performing precise cycle-time evaluations. Leveraging this data, we engineered modifications that preserved most of the existing mechanisms. By adding pneumatic gates and guides, and additional sensors we were able to service the second line. Then to improve speed we added a servo and pneumatic guide to decouple two processes. With these few simple changes we successfully transformed the machine to handle dual infeed at high speed, meeting the customer’s needs without the cost of a full replacement.
